Exhaust gas coolers work in the very tough conditions. Over the years efficiency of the exhaust gas cooler drops as result of soot and rust deposit on the fin tubes. Periodical cleaning and correct operation help to increases overall lifetime, but in some cases, it is needed to replace gas cooler due to extremely poor efficiency, or coolant leak.
